COFFEE CHAIN IN ATHENS

Our concept design for a coffee chain in Greece focuses on creating a strong, recognisable identity across different locations, through a clear spatial language and local materials. As most of the coffee shops will occupy pre-existing spaces, the proposal introduces a low-budget re-use of the space, a neutral background with a contemporary, laboratory-like character that feels clean yet affordable. The centerpiece is a free-standing table, designed as a high-end object, where all key functions meet: coffee preparation, service, customer interaction, and display. A series of uniform tables of the same height are arranged throughout the interior and exterior, ensuring seamless circulation while serving as multifunctional surfaces for guests, events, and shared experiences.

Materiality anchors the design to its context. Local marbles are used for the tabletops, giving each shop a subtle regional identity while reinforcing the overall brand cohesion. This restrained palette, combined with efficient spatial organization, creates an extroverted, inviting environment. The result is a contemporary coffee shop design that blends efficiency, functionality, and hospitality with a sense of locality, while remaining easily adaptable across multiple sites.
