OM60 STUDIO BOXES

Everything had to fit; Not just the essentials, but the core of a practice.

The first box became the drawing board: a horizontal surface for drawing and model making, a compact operational unit. The second and third box formed our library and archive: material samples, architectural journals and magazines, sketchbooks, stationery, past and ongoing projects’ portfolios -a layered record of thinking and making.

Together, they carried identity, memory, and project methodology -mobile, on wheels.

From Maida Vale, London to Omirou Str., Athens…the studio became portable.

This is a study of the “minimum”.
What defines the spatial footprint of an architecture studio? What is necessary, and for how long?
How much space does thought require? What format? A4, A3, A0?
How does a studio grow, adapt or shrink? How quickly? How flexibly?

And when does it need to move again?
